Today I've had to take pain medication for sever back pain from spinal surgery I had two years ago. Even though my use of it is legitimate, I always worry about addiction, and for good reason. Pain medication relieves your pain, makes your drowsy, and slightly disoriented. I have to admit that some of the best sleep I've ever gotten was after taking my medication. These meds are dangerous though. A lot of them can hurt your liver when taken in excess. Withdrawal symptoms are extremely bad too. You could experience anxiety, panic attack, nausea, insomnia, muscle pain, muscle weakness, fevers, and other flu like symptoms.
Real addiction is when you take medication beyond what you need. Taking what you were prescribed was a calculated design your doctor made for you, and is perfectly fine.
I'm not a doctor or a specialist, but in my experience people want to experience the feeling of bliss they had when they took medication before.
Be careful, and never do anything out of impulse.
