Today, a 4-year-old boy was found with a disassembled handgun. Him and his father were traveling to Detroit and were passing through security when an X-Ray scanner detected the weapon in three of the child's stuffed animals. According to police, all the parts needed to make a fully functioning firearm were spread out into 3 of the boy's animals. Officials say that the father didn't know the weapon was with the 4-year-old, and the case is being regarded as a domestic dispute seemingly between the boy's father and mother.
My thoughts are only that I'm grateful that TSA was able to catch the weapon, and that it is horrible that the boy had to go through this. There are young kids that are on the USA's no-fly list, and the family was lucky to be allowed to travel soon after this incident. A kid that young or any kid in general should never be put through this, especially by their parents.
It is horrible to see things happen to innocent people that are just stuck in the middle.
